Last year, Combat Stress saw a 10% increase in demand for our specialist services caring for Veterans' mental health.
Combat Stress delivers dedicated treatment and support to ex-Service men and women with conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety disorders. Our services are free of charge to the Veteran.
Their Aims:
The Enemy Within Appeal
Through The Enemy Within Appeal, we aim to make sure that Veterans and their families are never far from help. We will do this by:
Enhancing clinical treatment at our three short-stay residential centres and providing access to specialist clinical support in the community
Raising awareness of the plight of Veterans with mental health injuries
Encouraging Veterans and their families to seek help earlier: it currently take 13 years from Service discharge
On the 14th of June this year it will have been 30 years since the Falklands War ended. But for many Falklands Veterans, the battle still rages in their minds.
Combat Stress is the leading UK charity specialising in the care of Veterans' mental ill health. We are supporting over 200 Veterans who served in the Falklands War and who, 30 years on, are still suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, paranoia or depression from what they endured in battle.
