Life back on Civvy Street
Can be a difficult transition for some. Many soldiers settle back with no problems, embracing the skills they have learnt and developed whist serving in the services, like Derek Leggott, who went on to serve with the Greater Manchester Police where he retired.
For many the return to Civvy Street is much harder and adapting to civilian life can be distressing.
The Royal British Legion and Combat Stress can help with this transition. Many who have served return with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder undiagnosed and expected to return to life as normal.
The short film below highlights some of the issues.
